Description:

The Business Operations Assistant is a crucial support role focused on ensuring the day-to-day operations of an organization run smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. The person hired will assist in the operations function, handling a wide range of administrative, logistical, and coordination tasks across the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliation of department records and documentation.
  • Collecting, manipulating, and converting data into csv files that are then uploaded to the campus work order system (Sprocket)
  • Checking and responding to emails and answering phones
  • Scanning backup documentation into BMI for Facilities Management p-card receipts
  • Filing weekly backup documentation in physical binders and preparing old documentation for shredding.
  • Audit department records and data, including weekly timesheets, materials entered into Sprocket, and p-card transactions
  • Assist in data entry of campus utilities for reporting and to support decision-making for budgetary needs in regard to campus utilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of various financial datasets, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making
  • Perform other essential administrative duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of the Business Operations Office
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current SUU student.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent listening, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Comfortable answering phones and working with staff and vendors.
  • Strong preference for candidates with finance or accounting background.
